Privacy policy

Last updated September 16, 2026

This policy explains what information we collect when you use northpeak.dev, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We've written it in plain English on purpose. If anything is unclear, email us at [email protected].

Who we are

NorthPeak is a software development company based in the United States. We build and maintain software for business owners.

For anything related to this policy, contact [email protected].

What this policy covers

This policy covers the public website at northpeak.dev, including the forms on it. It does not cover the NorthPeak client application at app.northpeak.dev, which has its own terms and privacy policy that you'll see when you sign in. It also does not cover work we do for clients under a signed agreement; that work is governed by the agreement itself.

Information we collect

Information you give us

When you request a free code checkup or a free development plan, or when you email us, we collect what you choose to share. That may include:

  • Your name and work email address
  • Your phone number, if you provide it
  • The address of your website or application
  • A description of your business and what you want built or fixed
  • The technologies you currently use
  • Whether you can give us access to your existing code
  • Anything else you write in a free-text field or an email

If you give us access to your code or systems as part of a checkup, we treat what we see as confidential and use it only to prepare your checkup or plan.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs. These may include your IP address, browser type, the pages you requested, and the time of each request. We use these logs to keep the site running and secure.

We may use a privacy-focused analytics service to count page views and understand which pages are useful. If we do, it works without cookies, does not build a profile of you, and does not follow you to other websites. The data is aggregated, so we see totals rather than individual visitors.

Cookies

northpeak.dev does not set cookies and does not use tracking pixels or third-party advertising scripts. Our fonts are served from our own site, so no font provider sees your visit either.

How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Respond to your request and prepare your free checkup or development plan
  • Follow up with you about that request
  • Understand how the site is used so we can improve it
  • Keep the site secure and prevent abuse
  • Meet legal obligations

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising. If you ask us to stop contacting you, we will.

How your information is shared

We share information only with the service providers we need to run the site and respond to you. Today that means:

  • Our website hosting provider, which serves the site and keeps server logs
  • Our email provider, which delivers form submissions and our replies
  • A database or form service, if we store submissions so we can follow up
  • An analytics provider, if we enable analytics as described above

These providers process information on our behalf and under our instructions. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of NorthPeak, our clients, or others.

How long we keep it

We keep form submissions and email correspondence for as long as we need them to respond to you and to keep a record of the conversation. If you become a client, that information becomes part of your client record. If you don't, we delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period, or sooner if you ask. Server logs are kept for a short, rolling window by our hosting provider.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to submissions and correspondence is limited to the people at NorthPeak who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't promise that a breach will never happen, but we take reasonable steps to prevent one and will tell you if your information is affected.

Your rights and choices

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what information we hold about you
  • Correct information that is wrong
  • Delete your information
  • Stop contacting you

To do any of these, email [email protected]. We'll respond within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity first.

If you live in California, the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another place with its own privacy law, you may have additional rights, such as the right to object to certain processing or to complain to a regulator. We honor those rights. Because we only process information you give us to respond to your request, our legal basis for doing so is your consent and our legitimate interest in replying to you.

Children

northpeak.dev is for business owners and is not directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll make a reasonable effort to tell you directly.
